Best time to visit Turkey

April to June and September to November are ideal for Cappadocia and Istanbul - clear mornings for balloons, comfortable days. Winter balloons fly between snowfalls and are magical in their own way.

Turkey honeymoon routes: 5, 8 or 11 days

Start with the length that fits you. These are unpriced planning ideas, not confirmed packages. Flights, stays, transfers, weather and availability decide the final plan. Days include arrival and departure. Experiences are optional and subject to suitability and the final quote.

Istanbul for two

Istanbul 4

See the day-by-day idea
  1. Day 1: Arrive and settle in.
  2. Day 2: Choose an old-city cultural area, with time for a meal together.
  3. Day 3: Consider a suitable Bosphorus experience and a lighter evening.
  4. Day 4: A flexible day for another neighbourhood or the stay.
  5. Day 5: Check out and transfer around departure.

One city without a rushed domestic connection.

8 days / 7 nights

Istanbul and Cappadocia

Istanbul 3 + Cappadocia 3 + Istanbul 1

See the day-by-day idea
  1. Day 1: Arrive in Istanbul.
  2. Day 2: Old-city culture at a relaxed pace.
  3. Day 3: A chosen Bosphorus/city experience.
  4. Day 4: Travel to Cappadocia on the confirmed connection.
  5. Day 5: Choose a suitable landscape/cultural outing.
  6. Day 6: Another gentle local day. Ballooning is optional and weather/operation-dependent.
  7. Day 7: Return to Istanbul on the confirmed connection and settle in.
  8. Day 8: Depart around the confirmed flight.

Two experiences with a return buffer, not a same-day self-connection promise.

11 days / 10 nights

City, Cappadocia and coast

Istanbul 3 + Cappadocia 3 + Antalya area 3 + Istanbul 1

See the day-by-day idea
  1. Day 1: Arrive in Istanbul.
  2. Day 2: Old-city cultural exploring.
  3. Day 3: A chosen Bosphorus/city experience.
  4. Day 4: Travel to Cappadocia on the confirmed connection.
  5. Day 5: One suitable landscape outing.
  6. Day 6: A slower local day; optional ballooning if suitable and operating.
  7. Day 7: Travel to the Antalya-area stay on the confirmed route. A connection may be needed.
  8. Day 8: Enjoy the stay/coast if conditions allow.
  9. Day 9: A flexible stay day or one chosen cultural outing.
  10. Day 10: Return to Istanbul and settle in.
  11. Day 11: Depart around the confirmed flight.

Three chapters, with a buffer rather than a guaranteed nonstop Cappadocia-Antalya flight.

Balloon cancellation remains possible; a multi-night stay does not guarantee a flight. Coastal conditions depend on the month. Exact airports, schedules and transfer lengths must be checked before quoting. One return night is not a guarantee against disruption.

Good to know

Turkey, answered

Is Turkey good for a honeymoon?

Memorably so - a Cappadocia balloon sunrise is one of travel's great couple moments, and the value is excellent.

How many days do we need in Turkey?

Six to eight days for Istanbul plus Cappadocia. Add the coast with ten.

When do the Cappadocia balloons fly?

Year-round, weather permitting - April to November has the most flyable mornings. We always keep a buffer morning in the plan.

Do Indians need a visa for Turkey?

Turkey offers an online e-visa to Indian passport holders only if they hold a valid Schengen, US, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit; otherwise a visa is needed from the consulate. We help you check which applies - Source: Republic of Turkiye Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
